Time at the Beach

Since the last few weeks of kindergarten were all about sea life, we have had a ton of conversations about what lives in the ocean, what lives in the lake, and what does a sea anemone feel like. This past weekend we went to the aquarium and the beach and got a lot of touchy feeling experiences. Nothing is better learning that touching a real life sea creature!

We never figured out what this was!

My Beach Babies

Okay, so it is a pool, but they are too cute. We were able to spend some time in the water this week- it is warm enough outside the water, until you get wet, then it is a bit chilly by Florida standards. The water was too cool for me, but the kids loved it!

Spring Break and Vacation

We are on Spring Break this week and have taken the opp to go to Orlando. We found a nice, reasonably priced one bedroom condo with a kitchen and a washer and dryer (which I will NOT be using). We love the refridgerator and the table and chairs. Last night, we ordered Cracker Barrel to go and brought it back to the condo. It was $24 since we did not have to purchase drinks- we had brought all the drinks from home.

One bad thing- we decided to run to Walmart, which is around the corner, for a few things- it took over 30 minutes just to get through the line! The people in the line had issues, but it was mobbed! We could not believe the amount of people here. Of course, my husband decided that you canc ome here with the clothes on your back and buy it all Walmart, leave it, and go home!

We will have some fun these few days and with no worries. No scheduling or rushing around. Just time to enjoy the break!

St. Augustine Events- Uptown Saturday Night

If you are going to visit Florida, you should visit part of our history instead of one of the large theme parks. One great place to visit is St. Augustine. If you decided to go, make sure you check out all the great events in St. Augustine, especially the upcoming Uptown Saturday Nights. On the last Saturday in October and November, October 27 and November 24, from 5:00 - 9:00 pm, the antique district along San Marco Avenue comes to life with loads of antiques, workshops on antiquing, book signings by local authors, and featured artist's works at local galleries. Close by, you can also enjoy galleries, stories, live music, food, and wine. The shops all have open house so you can enjoy the best of the district even in the evenings!

The best part, parking is free at Mission of Nobre de Dios!

St. Augustine is great to visit any time of the year, especially in the fall when the Florida weather is moderate. The history of the oldest city in the US is enough to keep you busy during the day, and the Uptown Saturday Night event is enough to keep you busy at night.

Don't miss out on these two special nights in St. Augustine! If you cannot make it this fall, other dates are available. I am going to plan my visit to St. Augustine to make sure I can go to Uptown Saturday Night!
